Joint Consortia Framework Awards Contract to Antibodies.com as Supplier of Research Antibodies

Cambridge company Antibodies.com has been selected by the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) as a preferred supplier of research antibodies for the United Kingdom (UK) Higher Education Sector – under Lot 1 of the Inter-Regional Laboratory Agreement for Antibodies & Sera (IRLA).

The framework was put together by the SUPC on behalf of all six regional academic purchasing consortia across England, Scotland and Wales (APUC, HEPCW, LUPC, NEUPC, NWUPC & SUPC) and supports over 100 research centres. The IRLA was designed specifically to identify the best suppliers of antibodies for the consortia’s member institutions to partner with. It is the first collaborative agreement of its kind and research antibodies were deemed the most important area of laboratory procurement.

The suppliers selected by the SUPC have undergone extensive financial, legal and background vetting and were identified to have strong visibility of their supply chains and rigorous animal / employee welfare standards. Member institutions of the six regional purchasing consortia spend an estimated £40 million a year on research antibodies. This framework will run until the 30th of June 2019 – with the option of being extended until 2021.

Antibodies.com is proud to be one of the leading suppliers of antibodies for both the academic and pharmaceutical markets.

Stewart Newlove PhD, Commercial Director, commented “We are extremely happy to be selected by the SUPC as a key supplier for the UK Higher Education Sector. Our inclusion provides UK researchers with easy access to over 50,000 high-quality and characterised primary antibodies. This award underscores our commitment to product quality and validation and reflects the hard work of our team over the last few years.”

This framework supports some of the most prestigious institutions in the UK including University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University College London, Imperial College London, King’s College London, University of Bristol and University of Warwick.
