vLex Justis to be the new name of Justis Publishing

One year on from the acquisition of Justis Publishing by the legal technology company vLex, the London-based company has changed their company name. They will be operating under the name vLex Justis Ltd, which has been registered at Companies House in London. To reflect this change, the company also revealed a new logo consisting of both company names.

Managing Director of vLex Justis, Masoud Gerami, shows his enthusiasm for the new company name and reveals there will be new announcements from the company in the coming months:

Our change of name, along with a new logo, represents the synergy and shared values between the two organisations and, fundamentally, our future direction. The past 12 months have shown us what can be achieved when we bring our content, knowledge, skill and passion together, and we look forward to sharing the news of our upcoming developments with our customers in the months ahead. We are proud of our history, and excited about the future possibilities.”

A history of change and innovation

Justis Publishing started life as Context Legal Systems, founded on the 29th November 1985, before changing their name in 2005 to incorporate the name of its popular service, Justis. Today, the Justis brand is recognised internationally as a leading supplier of legal information, and this was a key consideration for choosing the company’s new name.

From being the first organisation to supply case law on CD-ROM in the UK to revolutionising how legal information can be researched using JustCite’s indexing capabilities, and developing AI-powered visualisation tools, Justis has a reputation for innovation in the world of legal publishing and legal research. As vLex Justis they aim to uphold this reputation.

This innovative culture has proven compatible with the equally talented and visionary team from vLex, who were founded in 1998 and quickly became the leading legal information provider in their native Spain, and throughout Latin America. The combination of the two is a formidable force.

Throughout 2020 and beyond, vLex Justis will continue to introduce new content and technology to support its customers and the wider market.
