BTC Trainer is Apprenticeship Champion
Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) trainer Darren Waine has been named as a NOCN Apprenticeship Champion.
The title recognises people who consistently drive for excellence within the Apprenticeship field, demonstrate a commitment to ensuring apprentices receive the very best in pastoral support, technical excellence and above all provide curriculums and Apprenticeship programmes that embody the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the Apprenticeship standard. It is presented by NOCN, an educational charity which aims to help learners reach their potential and organisations to thrive.
Darren is a Senior Specialist Trainer at BTC’s Construction Skills and Innovation Centre (CSIC) in Cannington. He is responsible for delivering the Steel Fixing and Formwork Apprenticeship, which is run nationally with some of the UK’s leading Construction & Civil Engineering contractors.
It’s fantastic to have the work we do at the Construction Skills and Innovation Centre recognised by NOCN. It’s very much a team effort and we’re all focused on supporting apprentices to develop their skills and help to develop standards in construction. Raising the profile of steel fixing training is a huge passion of mine and to receive this award in recognition of that is great!
