Can you support the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Reference Group?

We are currently recruiting members for our new Dorset Council Equality, Diversity and Inclusion reference group. We want people from voluntary and community sector organisations representing the protected characteristics from the Equality Act 2010, as well as our local protected characteristics, to take part.

Our vision for the Reference Group is that Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is actively promoted, communicated and managed, both throughout the county and within our internal workforce.   Members of the group will have the chance to help shape strategic policy and contribute to how services are delivered in the future.

The aim is that the EDI Reference Group will:

  • Act as a critical friend to the council
  • Assist in the delivery of the council’s EDI Strategy
  • Support, identify and deliver training in partnership with council officers to develop the knowledge and skills of the workforce
  • Provide valuable feedback and insight on wide ranging Council consultations, strategies and service development
  • Promote inclusion, equality and diversity across Dorset
  • Help develop and deliver identified Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity awareness events

This is a paid opportunity and members of the group are asked to commit to 100 hours across twelve months. For more details and to apply, please visit our webpage.

Please do share with your networks as the closing date for applications is 18 February 2022.
