Temporary Garden Waste Collection Service – Latest news from Mole Valley District Council
Subscribers to Mole Valley District Council’s garden waste service will have received a letter or email advising them of a new four-weekly collection until such time the normal fortnightly service can resume. This new arrangement starts later this month.
Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) is pleased to be introducing a four-weekly garden waste collection service for its subscribers starting w/c 21 and 28 February 2022. Residents who receive this service have been contacted to let them know which week they will need to leave their bin out for collection.
This new arrangement comes after a period of disruption to the service due to a national shortage of HGV drivers. February’s collections will be followed by collections taking place on either the 21 or 28 March. Subscribers are encouraged to sign up to MVDC’s ‘My Alerts’ to receive service updates by email. Councillor Caroline Salmon, Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “I would like to once again apologise for the inconvenience to our garden waste customers caused by the suspension of this service and thank them for their continuing patience. We have been doing everything we can to resolve the situation and we are pleased to be able to offer a regular service once again.
“We recognise the new arrangement is not the regularity of service our customers received prior to the disruption. We intend to move back to the regular fortnightly service as soon as possible, but the collections will continue every four weeks until we are able to achieve that.”
