Upcoming Elections

Are you interested in helping to shape the future of local government in Cumbria?

Briefing events will be held
for anyone thinking of standing to become a councillor on the new Cumberland
Council in the May elections.

Email [email protected] or call 01228 817555/6
for any queries about the Carlisle event.

It’s preferable if candidates and agents attend the briefing for their relevant area as we’ll have personalised nomination packs for them to take away and we’ll be making appointments for nomination submissions. However, if necessary, they can attend one of the other sessions but need to appreciate that some of the information (e.g., count arrangements) won’t be relevant.

The elections for the European Parliament were held on Thursday 23 May 2019. The European election in the North West was coordinated by the Regional Returning Officer, Joanne Rooney OBE, Manchester City Council. The elections within the Carlisle City Council area were administered by Dr Jason Gooding, the Local Returning Officer Carlisle City Council. Please find below a link to the North West Regional Returning Officer website where the results for the EU election are published.
