Dr Janet Rose judges local young artist’ competition

Trinity Church Primary School in Radstock won a selection of books for their library for their collaborative white feathered wings artwork.

Dr Rose said: “What a wonderful piece of work. It truly reflected the theme of the competition and I loved the way it was created collaboratively by the school. It is a beautiful piece. I also had fun posing as an angel! The pupils should feel very proud.”

A special prize was presented to St Gregory’s Secondary School for their work which will be exhibited later in the year.

Dr Rose said: “This artist was a well-deserved winner. Their talent shone through. I loved the message it was giving about young people changing the world and being ‘humanity’s hope’.”

Other prize winners came from Bishop Henderson Primary School in the village of Coleford and The Royal High School in Bath.

The RCS Bath young art prize and exhibition continues in the Basement Gallery at 44AD from 22-30 March 2022 and 4-10 April. A selection of the adults’ artwork from the exhibition is also on display at the Royal United Hospital in Bath until 31 May 2022, with prize winners’ artwork to go on display at the Bath and West Showground in June for the Jubilee celebrations.
