Overnight resurfacing on A430 Western Bypass
To keep Gloucestershire moving, the county council will be resurfacing the A430 Western Bypass in Gloucester from Thursday 24 March.
The resurfacing will be carried out along the A430 between the St Ann’s Way and Westgate Street junctions from Thursday 24 March to Saturday 9 April.
Every effort is being taken to minimise disruption. The works will take place overnight between 7pm to 7am, so the road will still be open during peak times.
The road will also be open during weekends, apart from the night of Saturday 9 April.
Highways crews will also be carrying out bridge joints replacements on the Oxlease Bridge.
An official diversion route, suitable for all vehicles will be signposted.
Your highways crews will complete vital resurfacing works along the 8,578 square metres stretch of road with 1,009 tonnes of material.
Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways, said: “The resurfacing of the Western Bypass and the repair of Oxlease Bridge will have significant benefits to businesses and the local community in Gloucester. I would like to reassure road users that by carrying out the work overnight, we will keep disruption to a minimum and reduce potential delays.”
