Work has begun on popular beach chalets
Date published: 12th November 2021
North Norfolk District Council is delighted to announce a programme of refurbishment works has begun on our chalets in Sheringham and Cromer.
The popular buildings, of which there are 93 in total (29 in Sheringham and 64 in Cromer) are much-loved by residents and visitors alike, and will all have works carried out on them totalling just under £92,000, ranging from essential maintenance such as repairs and waterproofing, to redecorating. This will provide some much-improved facilities for those seeking the perfect base to enjoy these seaside towns.
Cllr Eric Seward, NNDC’s Portfolio Holder for Finance and Assets, commented: “I am very pleased that work to bring our popular beach chalets up to a modern standard has started. It is important that the facilities offered by the Council to residents and visitors using our beaches are of a good quality and these much needed works will help to bring this about.”
In addition to the chalets, there are also beach huts available in Sheringham, Cromer and Mundesley, ideally located a stone’s throw from the beach and a short walk from the local amenities.
Some are available for weekly rentals all year round and many are available for longer term leases. We are currently in the process of updating our booking process, but details on how to rent a beach hut or chalet can be found here.
Work has begun and is expected to be completed ready for Spring in 2022.
