Online recruitment fair to showcase Barnsley’s health and care jobs

Local NHS organisations and Barnsley Council are hosting a free-to-attend virtual recruitment event to help get Barnsley people into local health and care jobs.

Open to people of all ages and backgrounds, this unique day-long event will be taking place on Wednesday 18 May from 11am until 7pm.

Taking place entirely online, exciting career opportunities in all areas of health and social care, including nursing, care and health care support, will be showcased at the event.

The fair is fully interactive, giving people the chance to talk live with recruitment managers and current post-holders to learn more about working in the local health and care sector.

Health and care organisations across Barnsley are actively looking to fill a number of job roles and will be offering advice on how to apply, including interview skills workshops.

A wide range of positions are available across the borough. Whether you’re an experienced health professional or new to the idea of working in the health and care sector – there’s something for everyone.

To take part in the virtual fair, users simply need an internet connection, mobile device, laptop or computer and an interest in working in health and care. There will be lots of information about different job roles, and a number of guest speakers will help share their working experiences in a virtual auditorium.

Wendy Lowder, Executive Director for Adults and Communities, said: “We know that when people are looking for work, they are also looking to make a difference in a rewarding career they can be proud of.

“There is a wide range of health and care roles available in Barnsley, all of which will allow you to make a real difference in your community and someone’s life. We’re proud these roles also offer lots of opportunities for you to develop your skills and progress your career.

“If you’re looking for a role where you can help others, join us at our virtual recruitment event to see what the next part of your journey could be. We’ll highlight a range of local roles, including some that offer flexible working hours that can fit around your studies or family commitments.
