Local traders and businesses invited to run new kiosks in Hackney parks

Local traders and businesses are being invited to run new kiosks in Clissold Park and Haggerston Park, as the Council seeks to provide more food and drink spots for local residents in its parks and green spaces.

The new kiosks – at the Clissold Park Pump House, and in a brick building at the edge of Haggerston Park – will also help to generate income that will be reinvested into the upkeep of the borough’s award-winning parks and green spaces.

The Council is keen to encourage local businesses to apply to run the space. Operators will be selected on the basis of their ability to offer a combination of quality, value for money, affordability for residents, an all-year service and reducing carbon emissions. This could be by using fair trade products, avoiding single-use plastics and encouraging visitors to bring refillable cups.

In Haggerston Park, situated in the south west corner of Hackney, the proposed kiosk location is a brick building to the west of the park.

In Clissold Park, the proposed kiosk will be located in the old pump house, a period building in the west of the park. This opportunity will be open to food and non-food businesses.

Both spaces are approximately 20sqm in size.
