The average drinker will experience four hangovers in a month, each lasting 10 hours.
A survey of 2,000 adults who drank alcohol revealed that they will indulge on 16 occasions, including work parties, drinks at the home, and dining out.
75% of people will resort to desperate measures to feel great, including taking cold showers, sleeping in, and going to the gym.
Other go-to fuzzy head cures include getting a breath of fresh air, a strong coffee, and herbal tea, with ‘hair of the dog’ also favoured by some.
Domino’s commissioned the research. Domino’s is currently launching its own. alcohol-free Bloody Mary, available online for a limited period ahead of Christmas with deliveries arriving before December 25.
It is a result of the fact that many polled believe the mocktail or cocktail is the best hangover remedy.
Melanie Howe, Bloody Domino’s ‘taste tester’, said: “Hangovers can be horrid so it’s no surprise we all have our way of dealing with them.
“Some people reach for a Pizza, while others reach for a Bloody Mary.”
“So, when we found out the nation was as tomato-obsessed as us, we were inspired – and Bloody Domino’s was born.”
Hangover remedies – essential for the festive season
The study also found that taking vitamins and watching movies are popular ways to feel better.
For some, swimming seems to be a good idea.
Over-indulging respondents found that the average hangover lasts less than 10 hours. However, for eight per cent of them, their symptoms can last up to 24 hours.
OnePoll also found that Thursday 15th December is most commonly used for office Christmas.
Melanie Howe added: “Thursday 15th December marks the return of the big office Christmas bash, and Domino’s is on hand should you need us.”
