Report: Yoel Roth, a former Twitter Exec, fled home because of growing threats

According to reports, rampant attacks on Twitter against an ex-executive of a company are starting to have real-world implications. 

Yoel Roth, Twitter’s former head of trust & safety, has been forced to flee his home due to intensifying threats of violence, according to a reportCNN cites an expert in the matter. 

Roth has been the target of a torrent of attacks over Twitter decisions. the release of the“Twitter Files” showed internal communications of the company, including discussions about whether or not to suspend Donald Trump from Twitter in 2021. Musk had previously requested that Trump be suspended by the company. reinstated his account since taking over Twitter. 

Over the weekend, the Musk attacks on Roth became more personal. Musk stooped in on a QAnon conspiracy technique and implied in multiple tweets that Roth held a permissive view on pedophilia. accordingTo the Washington Post 

Musk’s accusations against Roth follow just a few short weeks after Musk publicly defended Roth against allegations of left-wing bias based upon old tweets, including one in 2016 where Roth called President Donald Trump a “racist tunerine.”

Neither Roth nor Twitter immediately responded to requests for comment. 

Roth stayed in his role as Twitter’s head of trust & safety for two weeks after Musk officially took ownership of the social media platform. In mid-November, however, he resigned.
