Pelosi declared on November 17 that she would not run for re-election as the Democratic party’s leader, keeping her 2018 promise of stepping down. Pelosi said on the House floor, “The time has come for a young generation.” Pelosi recalled her first sighting of the Capitol building as well as her decision not to run for office. In fact, I never intended that I would run for public office.
