Southwest Airlines: Flights Can be Rebooked after December 31st

  • Southwest Airlines will no longer rebook flights until next year.

If you are a stranded Southwest customer trying to get home after visiting family for the holidays, we sincerely hope you like your family — you may be forced to stay with them a bit longer.

According to a, stranded Southwest customers cannot rebook their flights until December 31st. Southwest Airlines official who spoke to the press at Hobby International AirportMonday 

This is a huge blow to customers who waited since late last week to reach their final destination. 

Customers who have already booked a confirmed booking will not be affected.

Southwest Airlines cancelled nearly 3,000 flights in the wake of the incident Winter Storm Elliott — the highest count by far among airlines, according to FlightAware.

Over the weekend, travelers were left without a home as airlines couldn’t quickly rebook customers due to the impact of the storm.
