Conway, a pollster that helped Trump win the 2016 election, stated that she didn’t speak to Trump during the Capitol Riot, but tried to contact his wife.
Conway said that he had texted Melania Trump that same day, but for certain,” Conway told investigators.
“I texted her, please — something to the effect of, you know, please talk to him, because I know he listens to her,” Conway said. “He reserves — he listens to many of us, but he reserves fear for one person, Melania Trump.”
Conway claimed she didn’t receive a reply immediately because the former First Lady “didn’t have her phone.”
“She didn’t know what was happening. Conway said Conway to the January 6 panel that she was offended that no one came in to inform the First Lady that her teenage son and she may be, “I don’t know, at danger.”
Conway claimed that she received a reply to her text only when the First Lady had finished cataloging and “saw what was happening.” Conway didn’t specify how long it took her to get a response.

Grisham said to The Washington Examiner that “MT” was Melania Trump.
“I resigned instantly after her response,” Grisham stated to the outlet. The former Trump press secretary resigned on January 6, 2021, and was the first Trump official to step down after the Capitol riot.
