Brian Kilmeade calls GOP Rebels Against McCarthy Insurrectionists’

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade on Wednesday called the Republicans denying Rep. Kevin McCarthy the speakership “insurrectionists” — but then quickly walked the comment back.
Kilmeade said, “This shows how insincere these insurrectionists”
He paused and then said, “Probably shouldn’t use that term.” The people who don’t want Kevin McCarthy to be their candidate.
Steve Doocy, his cohost, suggested “Saboteurs”.
“Yeah, saboteurs,” Kilmeade said. “So, if you’re choosing Jim Jordan, he hasn’t agreed to any of your requests. Kevin McCarthy was at least open to some things and he didn’t agree with others.

Kilmeade was referring about how right-wing Republicans nominated Ohio Rep. JordanMcCarthy’s Tuesday show as an alternative. The “Fox & Friends” host did not single out by name the congresspeople he thought were “insurrectionists.”
The term “insurrectionists”, however, is loaded. It is often used to describe the. rioters who broke into the Capitol on January 6, 2021. The January 6 panel invested in the Capitol riot asked the Justice Department in December to prosecute Trump for inciting an insurrectionAmong other charges,
This was not the first time Kilmeade had rebuked right-wing Republicans who tried to stop McCarthy from securing his speakership.
“Please explain to us how this will benefit your party. Kilmeade stated Tuesday that you are “looking like idiots in public” in the lead-up to the first speakership vote.
To be elected speaker, McCarthy will need 218 votes. McCarthy still needs the cooperation from 20 Republican holdouts. They will be voting on Thursday for their 11th consecutive ballot denied him the speakership.
