Leading firm searches for Somerset timber cladding specialist

A national business has acquired a company that specialises in timber-cladding and related products.

North Somerset-based NORclad is a specialist manufacturer of bespoke fire-rated timber cladding and facades. It also supplies other timber products to commercial and residential customers nationwide.

The National Timber Group acquired the company with the backing Cairngorm Capital Partners.

NORclad boasts over 40 years’ experience and is proud to offer technical support to its customers.

The acquisition is in line with NTG’s strategy to increase its knowledge, range, and manufacturing capacity in bespoke fire-rated timber cladding.

NORclad’s shareholders will remain in the business, working with Patrick Guest, managing director of NTG England, to develop new business opportunities.

Alistair Brown, managing director of NORclad, said: “As the founder of the company I am very proud of the NORclad team and what we have achieved. We decided it was time for the business to grow and joined forces with a larger company. Our goal was to find a partner that shared our passions.

“With National Timber Group, we have found the right people with the same values as us – a continual focus on the customer and the drive to constantly improve. I look forward to the business continuing to grow and develop.”

Patrick Guest added: “As a specialist, added-value timber manufacturer and distributer, we are absolutely delighted to welcome NORclad to NTG. They will enhance our capabilities and offer and are a great example to us of the type business we want as a partner. They have an outstanding reputation in our sector and work hard to deliver great customer service.”

Addleshaw Goddard (legal) advised NTG on this transaction. Haines Watts (corporate Finance) and Meade Kings (legal) advised the shareholders of NORclad.
