Lana Del Rey: spotted working at Waffle House in Alabama

The “Summertime Sadness” singer has apparently been moonlighting as a waitress at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama, according to social media posts from a few of her customers shared on a fan account. Pictures posted Thursday show Del Rey in uniform, warmly serving patrons and working behind the counter.

The 38-year-old del Rey has recently released her new album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.” Fans speculated that the Waffle House gig was part of a video in conjunction with the album.

I saw her sitting [in one of the chairs] and I basically did a double take and I thought, ‘Oh, this must be like a look-alike’ because I knew she just did a concert in Canada,” he said. “But I immediately put my hand over my mouth in utter shock and she just smiled at me, waved and laughed a little.

That dovetails nicely with the lyrics from her song, “Paris, Texas,” from her March 2023 album, “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” the news outlet reported. The New York-born pop star sings that “I took a train to Spain, just a notebook in my hand/Then I went to see some friends of mine, down in Florence, Alabama.

Del Rey was seen in downtown Florence on Monday night standing across the street from Ricatoni’s where she had just eaten dinner. She signed autographs while fans huddled around the singer hoping to get a chance to take a picture with her. She asked the crowd around her to give a round of applause for the police officer who was with her keeping the crowd at bay.

But in perhaps the most odd sighting yet, the “Summertime Sadness” singer was seen in social media posts serving customers at Waffle House, clad in a sky-blue uniform. “Lana” was even stamped on the front of her name tag.

But it was few days later, when Del Rey was spotted at Waffle House, that really raised eyebrows: She wasn’t just stopping in for an all-star special, but wearing a uniform and a name tag. Del Rey was also spotted pouring coffee for customers, Billboard.com reported.

Karina Cisneros Juaros, of Muscle Shoals, said she met the six-time Grammy Award nominee at the Waffle House and took a photo with Del Rey, AL.com reported.
