A FOOT health trio is celebrating a year in business, having launched their enterprise from a home kitchen.
Directors, Jane Walsh, Lynda Comberbach and Jill Hepple (pictured L to R), who all hail from Burnley and had mutual interests in the sector but carried different skill sets, finally came together to create Solacefoothealth.co.uk last year.
The team, who specialise in nail cutting and filing, as well as reflexology and other foot care treatments, started out mobile, offering their services to clients in their own homes as well as nursing and dementia care homes.
But with business booming, the team has grown its client base to over 1,000, servicing those as far away as Cheshire and West Yorkshire, and have even set up a clinic based in Churchill House, Bank Parade in Burnley.
Solace will be exhibiting at The Dementia Care & Nursing Home Expo 2018 at the NEC Birmingham on April 25 and 26.
Practitioner Lynda, who previously worked for the NHS and facilitated the foot care module on the Clinical Reflexology Course at Christie’s in Manchester, said: “We’re so proud of what we have achieved, having set up from Jane’s kitchen.
“It was only by coincidence that I met Jane at a party and we got talking. I had just started on my journey of becoming a qualified Foot Health Practitioner and Jane was passionate about starting up a business. She then introduced me to her school friend, Jill, who had the same eagerness.”
“Now we have a clinic in our hometown and are looking to expand further as our staff are trained in understanding dementia, acquired brain injury and stroke awareness.”
In September, they were finalists for Best New Business in the EVA awards.
