Classic Fine Foods puts plans for a premium delivery service in place with PODFather

Classic Fine Foods puts plans for a premium delivery service in place with PODFather

Classic Fine Foods, the specialist fine food purveyor and distributor, has selected dynamic route planning, job tracking and electronic proof of delivery software from PODFather. With its fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles running a next day, six day a week delivery service to a network of over customers across the breadth of the country, Classic Fine Foods needed a premium planning solution that could ensure continuity, reliability and great service across its distribution operation. Having reviewed what systems the market had to offer PODFather’s proven results, ease of integration and wealth of experience in the foodservice and home delivery sectors made it the obvious choice for Classic Fine Foods.

“As a business, Classic Fine Foods is passionate about delivering both exceptional products and a first-class service, that’s why we needed a software supplier with the same company ethos as our own,” comments Philip Tucker, Operations Manager at Classic Fine Foods. “From our first meeting it was clear that PODFather could give us an easy to use solution to tackling the complex problem of getting our premium fresh produce to the right place, at the right time and in the most efficient manner.”

Classic Fine Foods deliver exceptional, unique gourmet products and seasonal offerings to restaurants, hotels, and customer homes across the UK. Prior to the introduction of PODFather, the business relied on a mix of software solutions and paper-based processes to organise and manage its distribution operation. Now with PODFather in place Classic Fine Foods can look forward to automating the paper-based processes of the past and reaping the proven benefits associated with the introduction of advanced, yet easy to use, route planning, delivery management and ePOD technology.

PODFather will deliver a range of functionality to the Classic Fine Foods operation, namely dynamic route optimisation, delivery tracking, customer ETA notifications and electronic proof of delivery. The PODFather driver app, which runs on even the most basic of Android or iOS smart phones, will enable Classic Fine Foods to collect vehicle check and defect information, provide directional details for drivers, capture real time delivery tracking and completion data including vehicle temperature information, and ultimately to have a real time electronic proof of delivery record, with photos, for every drop.

“There are huge customer service benefits to be had by introducing PODFather to our operation,” adds Tucker. “With PODFather our customers, and our customer service teams, will have real time visibility of exactly where each delivery is, and when it is scheduled to arrive. Also having electronic proof of delivery that’s captured and sent back to our transport team on order completion is going to have a hugely positive impact on how we run our business.”

“We are delighted to be working with the team at Classic Fine Foods, an organisation with the same passion for delivering quality products and exceptional service as we have here at PODFather,” adds Colin McCreadie, Managing Director at PODFather. “This implementation will see the roll out of our full suite of functionality which covers everything from job management and route planning, through to job tracking, driver communication and electronic proof of delivery, all delivered in one easy to use cloud-based system and driver app.”

Orangetheory Fitness put Member Support at the Forefront of Re-Opening Plans

OTF are re-opening with complimentary General Health Assessments for all.

• Complimentary Health Consultations, including body composition scans
• OTF plan to welcome people back to not only the, ‘Best 1-hour Group workout in the country” but also the, “Cleanest 1-hour Group workout in the country”

Last week, gyms and fitness studios throughout the country were dealt a disappointing blow when the government announced that they were not on the list of industries that would be reopening at the beginning of July. However, Orangetheory Fitness Midlands & Northern England have taken steps to turn this small setback into a brilliant opportunity to reach out to their members by offering complimentary Health Assessments and Coach Consultations. Therefore, the Altrincham & Derby studios intends to open their doors from Monday 6th July to help support their members as they prepare to return to the studio, their regular fitness routines and back on track with their personal goals.

“One of the key tenets of Orangetheory is the importance of community within the Orangetheory family” says Jason Zavasnik, Franchise Director, “which is why part of our plan for member re-engagement includes a complimentary General Health Assessment for all of our members, putting member health and wellbeing at the forefront of our re-opening plans.”

So, what will this mean for the company and its core membership base?

One of the key aspects to Orangetheory’s plans is to enable members to get a look inside of the studio with all its COVID-19 precautions in place. This will not only help members become acquainted with the new systems that have been put into place but also help alleviate any safety concerns that members may have, with staff on-hand to answers any potential questions.

As a company, Orangetheory has always emphasised the importance of cleanliness and an organised studio, but the latest precautions will help to ensure that it is not only the ‘Best 1-Hour Group Workout in the Country’, but that it is also the cleanest. The Altrincham & Derby studios have undergone a full deep clean, and staff will be undergoing full training on the new cleaning and safety procedures prior to the re-opening. These procedures will include shorter class times to allow for additional cleaning protocols, minimised shared spaces, socially distanced stations, and an even greater focus on cleaning and sanitising equipment throughout their classes.

Orangetheory is built on its great relationship with members, and these procedures aim to put member health and comfort at the forefront of their re-opening process.

The opening of Orangetheory will be primarily focused on providing members with Health Consultations with their coaching team. These consultations will include a review of the current activity levels of members and their existing lockdown exercise program, alongside blood pressure tests and body composition scans (in partnership with Boditrax), all of which will be used to provide members with advice on how to get back into their workout regime prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

These 1-2-1 personal consultations with the coaches in the studio will be used as a ‘Body MOT’ to help support a healthy lifestyle for their members, help with a goals reset, and to help them take the first few steps back into the studio in preparation for tackling their first in-studio class.

Whilst Orangetheory and other members of the fitness industry may not have an official date for reopening, it is clear that that Orangetheory Fitness are doing all that they can to help their members navigate the new fitness landscape post-COVID and to support their return to the studio when the time comes.

Data shows post-Brexit immigration plans will hurt UK gig economy

Data shows post-Brexit immigration plans will hurt UK gig economy
The Government’s post-Brexit immigration plans are aimed at reducing the number of low skilled workers entering the country.
Along with the farming, catering, nursing and care sectors, it is highly likely that workers in the gig economy will be excluded
from the skilled category.

The proposals are likely to intensify the fall in immigrants coming to the UK to work. According to figures published by the Office
for National Statistics, EU net migration is now less than half the level it was at its peak and more workers from Eastern European
countries are leaving than arriving. This trend is already impacting the UK gig economy.

Ana Andres, co-founder of TidyChoice, a platform for independent cleaners analysed the source of their applications over the
past five years. TidyChoice receives over 10,000 applications annually and is a good proxy for the overall London gig economy.
“The rate of applications from Eastern European nationalities has diminished drastically since the Brexit referendum. Better job
prospects at home, weaker Sterling and Brexit uncertainty are the main reasons for the fall. We have maintained strong growth
in total applications by plugging the gap with ever increasing applications from other countries.

Currently only 40% of our applications come from UK nationals. Without overseas workers, it will be very difficult for us to achieve
our targeted 30-40% annual increase in applications that we need to support business growth and counter natural attrition.

The Government is calling on companies to “adapt and adjust”. We cannot automate in our sector and the pool of UK citizens
seeking cleaning work will quickly dry up. I am worried that without new workers coming to the UK, the sector will shrink and
consumer prices will inevitably increase.”
