BERKELEY, CA — In response to the Black Lives Matter movement, MUSA, a digital platform connecting artists and venues, asked emerging artists based in the Bay Area to create individual letters for a collaborative poster that spells out “Black Lives Matter.” The poster stands for the collective responsibility to protect the lives, rights and voices of historically marginalized groups. “We stand in unity with the Black community and push for the end of a systemic racism and classism structure,” said MUSA founder Lucas Tepman.

When asked why she’d participated in this collaboration, artist Amadi Greenstein (Instagram @amadiroseee), stated that, “As a Black artist, this project stands as a meaningful form of personal expression. My intention was to design a visual art piece that simply signifies my experiences and inspirations I’ve carried throughout my childhood, while also stating as an expression of my thoughts and feelings of frustration, disappointment and anger that’s developed towards this current movement.”

The posters will be distributed for free to local businesses from the Bay Area Organization of Black Owned Businesses (BAOBOB) directory. BAOBOB is a membership organization committed to connecting, promoting, informing and representing black-owned/lead businesses and nonprofits throughout the United States. Businesses that have already agreed to display the poster include: Oeste Oakland, Anasa Oakland, Bissap Baobab, Oakstop, Ala Mar, Everett & Jones BBQ, Miss Ollie’, The Black Woman Is God, Mandela Grocery Cooperative, Bikes 4 Life, Strategy Squad, and Rich City Rides. The BLM poster, alongside individual posters created by the artists, are now on sale via the MUSA website. The 12×18 inch posters sell for $20, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce:

It is the hope of the collaborators that these posters will remain on the walls of homes and shops, reminding us all why we are taking a stand, be that through protests, donations, education initiatives, etc., and why we must continue to speak out in support of racial equality.

New webinar series to support the electronic warfare and RF community

Event to Mark Khalifa’s First-Ever Gaming Live Stream


Funds Raised to Support People of Color in Need of Mental Health Care

PITTSBURGH / ATLANTA — Global esports team, the Pittsburgh Knights, and charity fundraising platform, Softgiving, have announced a partnership to create live-streamed charity events together. The first event, the Wiz and Friends Charity Livestream, will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2020, and will be hosted by multi-platinum recording artist Wiz Khalifa in his first-ever gaming live stream. Wiz is a strategic partner for the Knights and will be the featured personality at the center of these new philanthropic initiatives by the team. Additional charity stream events for 2020 will be announced.

In addition to Wiz, Twitch streamer Austin (formerly “RajjPatel”) will be featured at the event. Additional talent will be announced.

The July 11 event will benefit Rise Above the Disorder (RAD), which provides a universal mental healthcare system accessible to youth all over the world. Since 2017, RAD has covered the cost of mental health care for more than 35,000 people across 132 countries. All funds raised will support people of color in need of mental health care.

People of color in the U.S. experience a significant degree of marginalization and discrimination, which is a top risk factor for poor mental outcomes. As in health care, mental health care disparities associated with access and lack of insurance are substantial.

“In light of this extraordinary time when the Covid-19 pandemic and Black Lives Matter protests have swept across the U.S. (and the world), we believe it is an especially important time to support those who are suffering and in need of mental health care,” said Knights president James O’Connor. “This charity live stream is a direct way to help those who do not have easy access to the care they need and deserve.”

The capital raising follows the company’s success in validating its core mechanical signal processing technology. Achieving several significant technical milestones convinced investors that Hemideina was on track with their development and commercialisation strategy.

Hays and Empact Ventures to expand Super Connect Series for start-ups across the UK and Ireland

Hays, the leading recruiting experts and global super connectors Empact Ventures are set to expand their support to tech start-ups and scale-ups in a series of 12 unique events across the UK and Ireland.
