The Gym Group will open seven new gyms in December, continuing its steady nationwide expansion and keeping firmly on track to meet its long-term growth targets. The openings reflect a measured approach to scaling, prioritising site quality and timing ahead of the industry’s busiest period in January.

Four of the new locations will open in London, alongside additional sites in Midsomer Norton, Manchester, and Bradford, bringing the total estate to 260 gyms. The milestone comes just months after the company celebrated the opening of its 250th site in Tunbridge Wells.

Supporting this expansion is a healthy pipeline of well-located properties in urban residential areas, including retail parks and mixed-use developments, selected through a disciplined, data-led approach. This ensures each site delivers long-term value for members and landlords, reinforcing The Gym Group’s role as a trusted partner in regenerating local communities and delivering on its mission to bring flexible, affordable fitness to more people around the country. The 16 new sites this year have all been funded from free cash flow, and The Gym Group will accelerate its roll out in 2026.

Hamish Latchem, Chief Property Officer for The Gym Group, commented: “These latest openings across the UK reflect the strength of our model. Accessible fitness is now part of the social infrastructure of communities, driving dependable footfall, and supporting the health of our towns and cities. With a strong pipeline of quality sites and a team focused on disciplined site selection, we remain committed to our Next Chapter plan, accelerating quality new sites and delivering sustainable growth.

“As we look to 2026 and beyond, our focus remains on expansion that creates lasting value for both our members and the properties we operate within. With the refreshed look and feel of our gyms, we are ensuring that we deliver that great value proposition to our members as well as meeting the continued demand of high value, low cost gyms.”
