Cat Dealer Fabick Celebrates 105 Years of Service – CEO Doug Fabick is proud to be the leader of Fabick Cat

Fabick Cat, one of the most long-standing Caterpillar dealerships in the country, celebrates in 2022 their 105th historic anniversary. Doug Fabick, CEO, is proud to be leading the company during this momentous occasion.

“For 105 years, Fabick Cat has supplied equipment and services that help make progress possible and improve the quality of life in our communities. Since 1917 our motto has always been ‘To Ever Serve Our Customers Better.’ To this day, these words remain the foundation of our success,” says Doug Fabick, Fabick Cat CEO.

The company’s motto was created by John Fabick and it remains a firm a commitment to this day – customer satisfaction has always been a key component of the company’s success. Fabick Cat’s story is one of a proud family tradition. In 1917, it started as a Caterpillar dealership. The company’s headquarters are in the United States, in Fenton, Missouri. Less than a decade later, in 1927, Caterpillar named the company its exclusive distributor in the St. Louis region. In 2022, the family-owned business now spans five generations and has more than 1,200 employees in 37 locations as the Cat dealer for major portions of Missouri, Illinois, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the entire state of Wisconsin.

The parent organization, Caterpillar, or CAT, strives to keep dealerships in the family and nearly two-thirds of US dealers are now in their third or fourth generation of family ownership, with numerous dealers having been in business for over a century.

“At Caterpillar, we take the long-lived success of our dealers very seriously, and we do a lot to help with the transition from generation to generation […] We have a lot of pride in the longevity of our relationships with dealers, which in the U.S is more than 65 years on average.  The fact that most Cat dealers are family owned, which is our preference, that the owners are highly connected to their customers and communities and that we share a genuine passion for our business is very unique”, said CAT Minneapolis District Manager Rich Baer.

This is a historic event for the company, and it is only natural to expect that Doug Fabick is preparing big things for his company in 2022, to celebrate Fabick Cat’s anniversary and in order to keep his family’s long tradition of excellency alive.
