Stars come out for LGBTQ+ Comedy Awards

Comedy Bloomers is delighted to announce an incredible line-up of comedy talents to judge the forthcoming semi finals of LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year.
Stephen Bailey, Rachel Parris (BBC Mash Report), Ella Vaday, Scott Capurro and Jordan Gray will be joining the judging panel at the two semi-finals taking place in May. Hear them deliver their verdicts on each of the 9 semi-finalists making this an exceptional night of comedy entertainment.
Stephen Bailey commented “I am so proud to be helping find the next crop of LGBTQ+  comedians. For so long it has been one at a time and I am glad we are changing that and building a queer comedy army!”
Ella Vaday, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season three finalist  said “I am thrilled to be supporting LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year. This is an important platform for new comedy talents and a much needed opportunity for the LGBTQ+ community to come together. I am looking forward to help shape the future of LGBTQ+ comedy as part of the judging panel for this exciting event”
Jordan Gray, the first transgender performer to appear on the Voice returns as a judge joining the panel “”There is so much talent on the UK scene and the fact that so much of it is LGBTQ+ fills me with joy. I love this comp and look forward to hearing all the acts do their best work”
Headliners across the competition include Charlie George (winner 2019), Joe Sutherland and Jodie Mitchell with Comedy Bloomers Kuan Wen and James Barr hosting the semi-finals nights.
The semi-finals are at Seven Dials Club, Covent Garden (11th May) and classic LGBTQ venue The Two Brewers in Clapham (18th May).
Details of the Finals in June will be announced later in May. 
The winner will get their own stand up comedy solo show filmed and shown on Next Up Comedy.

This demonstrates a real appetite to bring LGBTQ Comedy into the mainstream and will provide major support to the careers of the latest generation of LGBTQ+ performers. With the finals also being filmed for a documentary special, LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year is an ummissable event in the LGBTQ+ Calender.
