SDP Student Homes commit to planting a tree for every student

SDP Student Homes is committed to planting a tree for every student that signs up for one of their student homes for the 21-22 academic year. SDP Student Homes, in partnership with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization that helps communities around the world, says that they will plant around 250 trees a year.

The student accommodation provider, based in Sheffield, says it was inspired to launch the initiative by a study showing that planting 1 trillion trees could solve much of the carbon emissions crisis. “We understand our contribution is small, but we feel we can all play our part in something much bigger than ourselves. We have already made our tenancy agreement signing process paperless and are looking at ways we can reduce our paper use to virtually nothing,” says SDP Student Homes Lettings & Property Manager Oliver Robinson.

Students will be given a choice of where they would like their tree to be planted, within North America, Latin America, Africa and Asia.
