Local Hospice Lottery Provides Crucial Funding For Specialist Nursing Care Charity Jessie May

As a safe and simple way to support charities, Local Hospice Lottery was founded to provide a ‘regular and reliable income’ to those dealing with life limiting illnesses across Essex. Eleven years later, the organisation expanded this to further to support hospice care areas across Great Britain.

The Bristol based specialist palliative nursing care charity Jessie May is delighted to partner with local hospice lottery and deeply encourages the public to get involved.

Jessie May provides specialist palliative and end of life care, supporting terminally ill children and their families across the South West, and heavily relies on donations to be able to do this. This is made possible with the support of players of the Local Hospice Lottery, in place to provide a valuable income stream for the charity.

In 2020, for each £1 entry in the weekly draw, Local Hospice Lottery gave an average of 68p to hospice care.

With the pandemic limiting income, it can be especially challenging to donate. With a minimum £1 entry fee and a chance to win prizes, the Local Hospice Lottery draw is a practical and considerate way to give back to those who need it most. With the lottery’s rollover, Jessie May supporters are among those to win up to £25,000.

“The Local Hospice Lottery has seen 31 players win 33 prizes since 2019, receiving £345 between them. A total of £2,361 has been raised for Jessie May so far. These vital donations have made sure Jessie May nurses can continue providing care for children and families in need of crucial support.” – Clare Pearce, Director of Funding explained.

As of 7th October 2021, there are 406 active players, with 581 game numbers between them. With 200 cash prizes up for grabs every week, it is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to give to a charity who needs your support.
