British Tamil Chamber of commerce welcomes the motion by London Assembly Supporting “Tamil Heritage Month”

British Tamil Chamber of commerce expresses its deepest gratitude to cross-party London Assembly members for unanimously noting that “Tamils across London and the United Kingdom celebrate the month of January as Tamil Heritage month”. Also calling the Mayor of London and the London boroughs to ensure this is formally declared.

In this regard, we welcome the motion proposed and adopted in the London Assembly on the 2nd of December 2021.

We echo the same call to the Mayor of London and the London boroughs to make a proclamation to officially declare Tamil Heritage Month.

British Tamil Chamber of commerce last launched a hallmark event and activities in January 2020 as part of a series of efforts to seek national recognition for the Tamil Heritage Month in the United Kingdom. In this effort, we have formed an independent cross community organising committee this year.

We encourage all Tamil organisations and businesses to embrace our rich pluralistic non-secular heritage, righteousness and moral values with the wider people of the United Kingdom.

We call upon Tamil businesses and community organisations to support the Tamil Heritage Month organising committee and the other organisations who are preparing to celebrate Tamil Heritage Month 2022 this January.
