OpenAI and Capco Form Strategic Services Partnership to Accelerate AI Transformation in Financial Services and Energy

OpenAI and Capco

Global management and technology consultancy Capco, a Wipro company, has joined OpenAI’s Beta Services Partner Program, securing priority access to the latest AI innovations. Through this partnership, Capco and OpenAI will collaborate to address complex client challenges and deploy scalable AI solutions, further strengthening Capco’s position as a trusted technology partner to financial services and energy organisations worldwide.

Under the services partnership, Capco receives early access to OpenAI’s technology, technical support, solution architects and specialist training. In turn, OpenAI will draw on Capco’s more than 25 years of global transformation expertise and extensive delivery experience across the financial services and energy sectors. Together, the two organisations will explore advanced AI-driven solutions to address the most pressing issues facing the industries today.

AI presents diverse opportunities for innovation — from enhanced product design and operational transformation to improved regulatory compliance, increased employee productivity and hyper-personalised customer experiences.

Capco’s AI Lab has already developed a number of solutions powered by OpenAI’s technology, including Compliance Assist, part of the Capco Smart Suite of AI-enabled services. Compliance Assist helps banks proactively monitor regulatory updates and automatically identify necessary changes to internal processes and procedures, saving thousands of hours of manual effort.

Financial institutions must ensure continuous compliance with regulatory requirements to avoid reputational risk and financial penalties. For multinational banks, this often involves updating hundreds of policies, procedures and reports. When recently adopted by a major European retail bank, Compliance Assist reduced the workload by 80% and cut the time needed to assess policy impacts by half.

An initial focus of the strengthened collaboration will involve exploring how OpenAI’s GPT-5 — with its improved contextual reasoning and fine-tuning capabilities — can further automate and streamline processes, enabling organisations to move from reactive to proactive control and compliance.
