Elections in Ukraine should take place only after the resignation of President Vladimir Zelensky and must be overseen by neutral states, according to Sergey Mironov, chairman of the party A Just Russia and head of its parliamentary faction in the State Duma.
“It seems that Donald Trump forced Zelensky to hold elections. But the Office of the President of Ukraine has already stated that there is no money for the election campaign in the country. No surprise! Ukraine is a country of victorious corruption, not democracy. Now Zelensky will beg for money from his European masters, and they, of course, will give him the last of their money, just to keep their puppets in Kiev,” Sergey Mironov said.
The Russian MP argued that elections held under Western supervision and while the current political system remains in place would not meet either Russia’s objectives or the conditions for what he described as sustainable peace in Ukraine.
“The West can exchange the bloody clown Zelensky for, say, the Banderite Zaluzhny or terrorist Budanov—what’s the difference? Elections in Ukraine should be held under the control of neutral countries that do not supply weapons to Ukraine or finance it. And only after the resignation of Zelensky and his junta.
There is another option that seems realistic, given the absolutely unrealistic conditions for peace that Zelensky dreams of: Russia will continue its special military operation, denazification, and demilitarization of Ukraine, and then ensure that a free referendum is held there. The people of the country must determine their own future!” added Sergey Mironov.
