Get Inspired by the 2022 U.S. Paralympic Team

With the 2022 Winter Olympic Games fully underway, fans across the globe are cheering on their favorite athletes. Recently, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee announced the 67-member U.S. Paralympic Team. Look no further to learn more about the Paralympics and the talented athletes that comprise the 2022 team.

Speaking of the winter Olympics, U.S. Ski and Snowboard announced that HomeLight, a real estate technology platform, is a title sponsor of the HomeLight Foundation Series. This foundation works as a catalyst to launch the careers of top athletes within winter sports. We hope you get inspired watching these athletes, and the Paralympic athletes go for gold.

The Paralympic opening ceremony is set for March 4, and the competition is to begin on March 5 and conclude on March 13. During the games you can expect to see unmatched, talented athletes compete in alpine skiing (a fan favorite!), cross-country skiing, para ice hockey, snowboarding, wheelchair curling, and biathlon (this is a sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting).

Our 2022 Paralympic Team features 39 returning athletes giving a nice mix of seasoned athletes, and rookies who are giving it their first shot at a gold medal. Some names to watch out for include:

  • Oksana Masters from Louisville, Kentucky. The most decorated athlete on the team with a whopping 10 Paralympic medals
  • Josh Sweeney from Glendale Arizona. An athlete that has transitioned from sled hockey to Nordic skiing (talk about talent!)
  • Jesse Keefe from Sun Valley, Idaho. He will be competing in alpine skiing and is the youngest athlete on the team at only 17 years old
  • Pam Wilson from Westminster, Colorado. She is the most seasoned Paralympian in the competition at 66 years old and shooting for gold in wheelchair curling
  • The team includes two guides for visually impaired athletes

Each Paralympian on the U.S. Team offers a unique story with different challenges and backgrounds, but one thing they all have in common is that they have all worked tremendously hard to get their spot on the team. All these elite athletes offer pride in their sport and competition that everyone should feel inspired by.

The motto of the Paralympics is “Spirit in Motion”. This phrase represents the strong will and determination of every Paralympian. These athletes are consistently inspiring and exciting fans around the world to always keep moving forward, and never give up despite challenges you may face.

You can follow the 2022 Paralympic Team on all social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube), and on the team website to get inspired by these talented athletes and to follow their journey to the podium. There is also a team microsite that will offer Team USA results, athlete biographies, competition schedules, and more.
