LyricalGenes Delivers His Long Awaited JudgMENTAL EP

Dana Burtin (LyricalGenes) releases his JudgMENTAL EP inspired by his life in high school. JudgMENTAL is a 4 song EP that advocates community, awareness of mental health, and the value of persistence in everyday life. LyricalGenes’s compilation of music grabs any genre listeners’ attention to think, focus, relax, and be patient with their life aspirations.

To kick things off, LyricalGenes delivers a song called, “Girlss” featuring characters from the Wizard of Oz. With the opening line stating, “That a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.” Immediately addressing the topic of being judged or having judgment over someone. With stars Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley & Frank Morgan being featured in this track, LyricalGenes’s storytelling about his first kiss (kind of) will have you on an emotional rollercoaster.

Secondly, Dana Burtin introduces “Let’s Talk” as the second song on the EP. LyricalGenes used beat producer, Josh Karban, to construct the beat for this uplifting song. Keeping the hook simple, yet impactful LyricalGenes says, “I understand how you feel, man. Let’s talk about it,” showing great empathy and sympathy for those who need this song the most.

Furthermore, we have “Message To My Peers.” With this song being influenced by Andre 3000’s “Ms. Jackson’s” forever ever flow, Dana Burtin raps, “I never ever wanted us to be this way forever ever. I’m just trying to figure out who I am for the better. And don’t ever ever think I’m doing something purposely just to hurt. I would never ever, once so ever.”

Lastly, LyricalGenes presents “Smile For Me,” a song remixed from Scarface and Tupac’s hit song, “Smile,” LyricalGenes strikes a tear jerking cord with his audience. With the lyrics from LyricalGenes’s song itself winning multiple poetry awards and being published in the newspaper, the instrumental adds an emotional element to the song that resonates with the listener.
