5 Secrets to Deal with Frizzy Hair During Winter

Winter means dryness. And dryness means a difficult time managing your hair. It becomes rough, frizzy, and eventually leads to lots of hair fall. The more you try to manage your hair, the more it gets tangled. And the more you try to detangle your hair, the more they break, leaving you with plenty of strands wrapped around your fingers.

Lack of humidity makes your scalp dry. And a dry scalp is never a thriving ground for your hair. With so many chemical hair-care products, you may feel tempted to use them and stop the frizziness and untimely hair fall. But think twice before using these products. They are not necessarily the best in the business. Most of them contain artificial chemicals that may temporarily help you manage your hair but cause long-term damage. Instead, you can try the following techniques:

  • Wash your hair with lukewarm water

Don’t use cold water to wash your hair during winter as it dries up your scalp quickly. Lukewarm water is ideal as it closes the hair strand cuticles and seals in moisture. Closed cuticles don’t allow dirt to enter your hair roots. They also prevent your scalp from pollution and keep it moisturized for a long time.

  • Use a hair growth spray

If you are experiencing too much hair fall during winter, you can use a nutrient-rich hair growth spray. This type of spray stimulates hair regrowth, reduces hair loss, and produces more robust and long-lasting hair. How is a nutrient-rich spray different from other hair-care products? It contains natural ingredients and botanical extracts that don’t have any side effects.

  • Keep your hairdryer away.

A hairdryer is a strict no-no for your hair during winter. Winters can make your scalp dry within a few minutes. You wouldn’t want to dry it quicker using a hairdryer. In addition, a hairdryer can soak the moisture available in your hair cuticles and expose them to dust and pollution when you go out. This would not only make your hair frizzy but also make it vulnerable to hair fall.

  • Make a DIY hair mask.

First of all, soak a cup of rice in water for approximately 15 minutes. Strain the water. Next, mix that water with milk and a couple of tablespoons of honey. Apply this paste on your hair and wait for 20 minutes. Finally, rinse your hair using lukewarm water. Rice has natural starch that can prevent hair fall. And milk and honey make your hair smooth and silky so that it doesn’t look frizzy.

  • Use coconut and castor oil.

The oil keeps your scalp hydrated. Take equal proportions of coconut and castor oil and massage it slowly on your scalp. Massaging increases your blood circulation and soothes your scalp. In addition, a hydrated scalp keeps dandruff away. Dandruff causes dryness that leads to curly hair. Massage this mixture at night and wash your hair with shampoo using lukewarm water in the morning.

Although winter is your hair’s biggest enemy, you can keep it under control if you follow the above tips.
