Chuck Schumer Declares Democratic Control of the Senate a Victory

Chuck Schumer, Senate Majority Leader, reacted to Democrats retaining control of the Senate. He tweeted: “This election was a victory and vindication Democrats, our agenda, and our accomplishments, as well as for America and its people.”

Schumer continued by tweeting a list highlighting the party’s accomplishments over the past two-years, such as the American Rescue Plan or the Infrastructure Bill.

 

 

Schumer was tweeting to respond to Nevada results in which incumbent Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto was declared victorious beat Republican Adam Laxalt.

Despite the fact that the House has not been called yet, Rep. Ilhan Obmar responded to the Senate results. 

 

There are still 25 uncalled seats in the US House. For a majority, Democrats need 18 seats, while Republicans need eight.
