The story begins with Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga), now struggling with her own inner demons after her traumatic experience with the malevolent entity Valak. Despite her turmoil, she has dedicated herself to a new mission: to help the villagers rebuild their lives and restore the long-abandoned Valea Iadului Abbey.
As Sister Irene works diligently alongside the villagers, a new character, Dr. Gabriel Stoker (Jonas Bloquet), arrives in the village.
