Kanye West’s Twitter Account Suspended by Elon Musk
- Ye, the rapper formerly known by Kanye West has been removed from Twitter.
- Elon Musk confirmed the suspension by tweeting that he did his “best” with the rapper.
- Ye has made numerous antisemitic comments in interviews as well as on Twitter.
Ye, the rapper previously known as Kanye, has been suspended from Twitter by Elon Musk.
“I tried my best. Despite this, he violated our rule against incitement violence again. Musk: “Account will be suspended.” tweetedThursday night. None of Ye’s tweets were accessible on his account page at press time.
This suspension comes after a series heated online exchanges between Ye & Musk. Ye has made numerous antisemitic remarks in interviews over the last week. He also shared a series of controversial tweets, including one showing a swastika superimposed on the Star of David.
“Sorry, you have gone too far. This isn’t love,” Musk wrote Ye in response to the photo, according to a screenshot Ye shared on Twitter of their conversation before his suspension.
Ye replied in the text exchange, as the screenshot shows.
Ye also shared screenshots on Truth Social — Donald Trump’s social media site — of his text conversation with Musk. The text exchange also contained a screenshot taken by Ye from his Twitter account, which indicated that Ye had been placed in a 12-hour Twitter Timeout.
Ye seemed to be aware of his suspension. On Thursday, Ye posted an unflattering photo of Musk on a yacht with the caption: “Let’s always remember that as my last tweet #ye24.”
Ye also launched an antisemitic tirade against Alex Jones, far-right provocateur on “Infowars”, Thursday. During the program he appeared alongside white nationalist Nick Fuenteshe spoke repeatedly about his love of Hitler and the Nazis.
Insider asked Musk and Twitter representatives for comment but they did not respond immediately. Insider was not immediately contacted by a Ye lawyer.
