The First Group Dominates Five Categories at the Arabian Property Awards
At a virtual ceremony conducted on the 5th November 2020, The First Group – Dubai’s leading developer – scooped awards in five major categories at the Arabian Property Awards.
One of the region’s fastest growing and most dynamic property developers, The First Group has amassed an impressive portfolio since its establishment in 2005, developing a total of six luxury hotels and hotel apartments, five residential properties, and nine restaurants, with seven hotels currently under construction.
The Arabian Property Awards panel consists of over 80 highly respected industry experts. It is chaired by UK Parliament members Lord Waverley, Lord Best, The Earl of Liverpool, and Lord Caithness. Winners are selected according to a variety of criteria, including quality, design, commitment to sustainability, originality and innovation.
Winners of Dubai categories, including The First Group, receive automatic entry to the Middle East and Africa regional awards, the winners of which will proceed to the International Property Awards, competing against the world’s best property developers for overall global honours.
The First Group’s stylish 491-guestroom The One at Jumeirah Village Circle claimed three top prizes at the 2020-2021 Arabian Property Awards: ‘Hotel Architecture’, ‘Hotel Interior’, and ‘New Hotel Construction & Design’. Following completion, the property will operate as part of the prestigious Ramada Plaza brand.
The centrally located, 492-guestroom The One Hotel at Business Bay will operate as Millennium Place Business Bay upon completion. The project attracted two Arabian Property Awards in its Dubai-based categories: ‘Hotel Architecture’ and ‘New Hotel Construction & Design’.
Both projects establish new standards in terms of upper midscale hotel design in the region, providing guests with a variety of premium amenities and services to appeal to both leisure and business clientele.
The First Group’s achievements at the 2020-2021 Arabian Property Awards follows significant success at the event the previous year, when it was recognised for its ‘Ciel’ flagship project in Dubai Marina with top honours in the ‘High-rise Architecture’, ‘Hotel Architecture’, ‘Commercial High-rise Development’, and ‘New Hotel Construction and Design’ categories.
