Efforts are underway to find the UK’s exceptional women in business

The Enterprise Vision Awards are now welcoming female entrepreneurs from across the UK, marking the first time for such a nationwide participation. The EVAS showcase the outstanding achievements of women in business from all sectors and shine the spotlight on fabulous role models who inspire the next generation and aspiring female entrepreneurs.

From startups to scale ups, young entrepreneurs to silverpreneurs, small independent businesses to international brands; the awards celebrate the successes and accomplishments of all women, whether they run their own business or work within one.

Coral Horn, founder of the awards said “The EVAS are the UK’s largest business awards dedicated solely to women. Each year, we see thousands of women sharing their experience, support and advice to help other women avoid the pitfalls and achieve their goals. We want to see more women recognised for their hard work and dedication. Our hearts swell as we hear about the women who overcame obstacles, juggled the work life balance and family responsibilities and have gone on to create an amazing enterprise.”

The awards are about more than turnover and growth. They look at the women behind the business and the impact they have through their products, services and actions. The EVAS are a platform to share the stories of extraordinary women who make a difference to the lives they touch.

Heather Waters, Regional Enterprise Manager – North West said “NatWest is delighted to sponsor the EVAS for the tenth year running. As the UK’s biggest business bank, we know that female-led businesses have a vital role to play in the economy and we are committed to championing the potential of female entrepreneurs. The EVAS is a fantastic opportunity to both recognise and celebrate the success of women in enterprise and we look forward to this year’s event and hearing the inspiring stories that the awards shines a light on every year.”

According to the latest updates in the Alison Rose Review, if more women started and scaled up new businesses at the same rate as men, an extra £250 billion could be added to the economy. Although over 150,000 new businesses were founded by women last year, there’s still a huge disparity of the sexes with female-led companies representing only 20% of all businesses in the UK.

There are 18 awards to be won including Not For Profit, Diverse Business, Internet Industry and Inspirational Woman. The winners will be announced at a spectacular awards ceremony on Friday 29 September at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

A free Information Event will be held in Manchester on Tuesday 25 April where you can discover more about the awards, meet sponsors and hear from previous winners Helen Quayle of Laser HQ and Sara Lou-Ann Jones of the Centre of Excellence. They will be sharing winning tips and talking about their EVAS experience.
