FAB LAB BEN IS COMMUNITY CHAMPION
Fab Lab technology demonstrator Ben Haddock has been recognised for his talent and enthusiasm with a Community Champion Award.
Ben was awarded the accolade by Jisc – a UK not-for-profit company that provides network and IT services and digital resources in support of higher and further education institutions and research – for “going above and beyond to support colleagues across the sector in many different ways and for being an advocate of best practice and sharing.”
Ben’s best practice sharing has been central to the Tech Tuesday events he has hosted with Fab Lab manager Anne Scrimshaw, where both shared their knowledge and expertise in using Emerging Technologies to enhance teaching, learning and assessment with colleagues working in the field of Education, from as far afield as Mexico, Dubai and Kazakhstan.
During the past year Ben has presented at several important conferences, including Jisc’s DigiFest Conference, Blended Learning Consortium’s Annual Conference and most recently at the Association of Colleges.
He is playing a key role in the DfE funded Skills Accelerator Project, providing training and consultancy services to local businesses in digital skills, the BodySwaps £150k VR project, and the Jisc funded Chatbot project.
