Trust celebrates World Administrative Professionals Day

Admins form an integral part of all systems and processes which keep Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital and Montagu Hospital operational.

To mark the day, ‘Thank you’ packs, selfie boards and a random give-away of three £25 Love2Shop gift cards were just some of the ways the Trust showed their appreciation for admins.

Organisations across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw also came together on Tuesday 26 April at the World Admin Day Awards at Sheffield City Hall, with cardio-respiratory clerical officers Diane Hayes and Julie Belshaw taking home ‘Rising Stars’ award.

The pair, from Bassetlaw Hospital, were beaming as they accepted their certificates and awards from Gavin Boyle, Chief Executive Designate for South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, and Michael Harper, Chief Operating Officer for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

Claire Wright, Deputy Principal Cardiac Physiologist at Bassetlaw Hospital, who nominated the pair, had these kind words to share:

“I cannot express enough how much I rely on them both. During the last 2 years, they have had to face an unprecedented increase in work load, look after worried and distressed patients on the telephone at our reception and help our patients and colleagues navigate a new healthcare environment.

“Absolutely nothing is too much trouble and the care and compassion they show to our patients is second to none. They always go above and beyond and keep each patient at the centre of what they do.

“Both of them have something incredibly special that needs to be witnessed, their attitude and outlook to their work and our patients is something very special and I pinch myself regularly to think that we are so lucky to have two such people.

With a long list of nominees, the Trust was amongst many others who had come out to celebrate the hard work of admins over the past two years.

Richard Parker OBE, Chief Executive at the Trust, said: “I want to thank all our administrative staff in every area and speciality across the Trust

“As an organisation, we depend on admin staff for the crucial work you undertake, without which, we simply couldn’t function. You enable the great care we deliver to our patients, and you are an absolutely vital cog within the wider workings of DBTH.

“I want to share my thanks, as well as those of the Board of Directors and Council of Governors, today and show my appreciation for all that you do.”
