Book of Remembrance open for Cllr John Mutton – Coventry City Council

Cllr Mutton at the count

Residents can now leave messages in memory of Cllr John Mutton in remembrance books at the Council House and Willenhall Library.

Cllr Mutton, a councillor for 38 years and a former Leader and Lord Mayor, passed away on Sunday.

He leaves behind his wife and fellow councillor Mal, two sons, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The flag outside the Council was flown at half-mast this week in his memory, and there was also a silent tribute at yesterday’s AGM of the Council at the Cathedral.

Now two books of remembrance have been made available – at the reception areas in Willenhall Library and the Council House – for members of the public to sign and leave messages and their own personal tributes.

The books will be passed on to Cllr Mutton’s family.
