China operates more than 100 secret police stations globally: Report

  • According to a report, China has more then 100 “police stations” worldwide that monitor its citizens in exile.
  • Safeguard Defenders claimed that some of these facilities were set up with the assistance of host countries.

According to Safeguard Defenders, China has over 100 police stations around the world that monitor, harass and repatriate exiled citizens. CNN.

According to the report, many of these stations were set up under bilateral security agreements with host countries in Europe or Africa.

It first discovered 54 stations in September and now has evidence of 48 more.

The organization gave specific examples of Chinese nationals being coerced into returning from France to China, and other instances in which they were forced to return from countries such as Serbia and Spain.
